Let’s talk about skins anatomy! I will highlight main points that you need to know!
Skin is the largest organ whose main functions are body regulation, synthesis of Vit D and protection from mechanical, chemical, thermal, UV damage and more. Skin is composed of three layers: epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. Epidermis is the most superficial layer that is mainly formed by layers of keratinocytes undergoing terminal maturation. You can also see melanocytes here which are responsible for melanin production and pigment production. We see that skin constantly dies and helping your skin to get rid of dead cells is what you get during regular facial! Dermis- is immediately deep to epidermis, consists of 2 layers and is the thickest layer of the skin that is made out of fibrous and elastic tissue. Thus it provides flexibility and strength of the skin. As you see in the picture everything is here: collagen, elastin fibres, blood vessels, hair follicles, nerves, glands and lymphatics and more melanocytes. Fibroblasts are the primary cell type present in the dermis and are responsible for the production and secretion of pro collagen and elastic fibers. Pro collagen is catalysed by enzymes and forms strong collagen.
As we age the amount of fibroblasts decreases which leads to weak and broken collagen/elastin fibers and results in saggy, deep and fine lined skin.
There are so many ways to help your skin to regenerate and we will talk about it in the next post!#skinanatomy#skinanalysis#epidermis#dermis#hypodermis#collagen#ellastin#fibroblasts#aging#cellturnover#hydropeptide#ultraceuticals#restore#rebuild#stimulatecollagen#biorevilization#mesotherapy#microneedling#RF#botox#filler#commack#commackmoms#longisland
